As attention span grows, kids use singing, movement and instrument playing to explore their creativity while using one song, story or activity for the class. A variety of songs are used to become aware of vocal qualities and enhance their listening skills. This is for ages ~4-6.

Each student is required to buy a Music Kit that contains high quality instruments that will be used in class and at home. They come in a backpack that many children are proud to carry around.

There are two kits for this age group, depending where we are in the curriculum.

Purple Kit- Big Kids Make Music contains a small ocean drum that can be played as a hand drum or to create sounds of the ocean waves, and a colorful children’s glockenspiel that has great tone quality and is accurately pitched with a diatonic range from C to C. It has rounded edges and removable bars that are child friendly and a pair of mallets is included.

Yellow Kit- Young Musicians Make Music contains finger cymbals that are smooth enough to be safe for babies and yet have a professional sound, guiro tone block made from hardwood with a natural finish and it comes with a mallet. Shaker egg perfect for little hands and a crisp rhythmic sound. Colorful scarf for creative movement and dance and a very durable, high quality Lynn Kleiner Hand Drum with a rainbow mallet.

BENEFITS OF EARLY CHILDHOOD MUSIC CLASSES

Early childhood music classes enhance development of the brain, language skills, motor skills, math skills, literacy skills, listening and concentration skills. It helps them with coordination and social skills as well.
